After things got chippy last night in Houston, the Warriors are stirring up trouble again with an opponent.
This time, it’s Kevin Martin of the Thunder, who seemingly loves to play against the Warriors.
Here is what he said, via the San Francisco Chronicle:
Coach Jackson should talk to a couple of his bench players, make sure they get wet behind the ears before they come barking up a couple of our players’ trees. I take it personally. It wasn’t only talking trash. They did a couple of dirty plays to inspire us as a team.
Martin had a decent game, scoring 21 points and was 3/6 from 3-point range as the Thunder blew out the Warriors 119-98.
Thunder point guard Reggie Jackson also had something to say.
“I think it’s the young guys on Warriors who kind of got [Martin] a little hot, talking a little trash,” said Jackson. “I guess I ought to thank them for waking up the monster in him, so I do give them a shout-out for that one.”‘
The obvious culprit here is rookie Draymond Green, who has a knack of getting under opponents’ skin. The other “young guys” Jackson is referring to could be Charles Jenkins, Kent Bazemore, Jeremy Tyler, or Festus Ezeli.
