Giants Bring Back Ramon Ramirez

The Giants have signed reliever Ramon Ramirez, CBS Sports reports.

The deal does not guarantee him a roster spot, so Ramirez will have to make the team out of spring training.

Ramirez will be brought back after being traded to the Giants before last season to the Mets. He went 3-4 with a 4.24 ERA in New York.

He spent all of 2011 and part of 2010 with San Francisco, and was stellar. He recorded a 2.62 ERA in 66 games in 2011 and an 0.67 ERA in 2010.

Ironically, this signing completely nullifies the Angel Pagan trade made last off-season. The Giants sent Ramirez and outfielder Andres Torres to the Mets for Pagan.

Now, both Ramirez and Torres have returned to the Giants for the 2013 season.
