Two new potential suitors have emerged for utility infielder Ryan Theriot.
Sources tell FOX Sports that the Texas Rangers and Cleveland Indians are interested in signing Theriot.
Theriot is also on the Phillies’ radar, as reported last month.
Theriot hit .270 with no home runs and 28 RBI in 104 games last season for the Giants. He was a starter for a portion of the year, but finished the season on the bench as a pinch hitter or defensive replacement.
In eight seasons in the big leagues, Theriot has a career batting average of .281.
If the Giants re-sign the veteran, he would likely be used as a backup to Brandon Crawford at shortstop.
