Giants Claim Tony Abreu From Royals

The San Francisco Giants have claimed infielder Tony Abreau off waivers from Kansas City, the team announced.

Abreu spent 22 games with the Royals last season, hitting .257 with a home run.

He has played parts of four seasons from 2007-2012 three different teams: the Dodgers, Diamondbacks, and Royals.

Abreu has been used as a second baseman, third baseman and shortstop, and has a career batting average of .252.
