The city of New Orleans may be in big trouble with the NFL after a 34-minute power outage that interrupted the Super Bowl between the 49ers and Ravens on Sunday night.
The outage took place in the third quarter with the Ravens leading 28-6, and once the power came back on, it gave the 49ers new life.
San Francisco rallied to close the lead to 31-29, but could not complete the comeback and fell short in the Super Bowl.
So did the outage help them in any way? Linebacker Ahmad Brooks doesn’t think so.
“I don’t think it had anything to do with the comeback,” he said. “It just took a little longer for us to lose.”
The largest comeback in Super Bowl history was 10 points, so the Niners would have eclipsed that record by a bunch had them battled back from their 22-point deficit.
