San Francisco 49ers’ cornerback Chris Culliver will begin sensitivity training and work with an LGBT group, according to AP.
Culliver’s homophobic remarks earlier this week lit up a storm in the media, as his anti-gay remarks seemingly appeared everywhere online and on the news.
As a result, Culliver will work with the “Trevor Project,” to learn more about the LGBT community.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the Trevor Project said:
We really feel that education about LGBT youth and the challenges they face is a great way to get (Chris) started on the right path, especially since he’s a role model and there are kids all over the country with his poster on their wall, his jersey – his fans that take his words and actions to heart.”
Culliver has since apologized for his remarks via a statement and a one-hour press conference.
