The Bronco Express keeps on rolling.
Marc Trasolini had a game-high 23 points as he led Santa Clara to the 70-46 West Coast Conference win over Portland on Thursday night.
Santa Clara (17-6, 5-3 WCC) has won four straight games and has claimed sole possession of fourth place in the WCC. The Broncos led by as many as 26 in the second half and was able to open up the gap without much help from Kevin Foster.
For the third straight game the senior guard scored under his season average of 19 points but it was Trasolini who stepped up once again.
Trasolini had 23 points on 11-for-17 shooting and added 13 rebounds. He is averaging a league-best 9.6 rebounds per game.
Foster had 10 points on 3-for-8 shooting.
Brandon Clark came off the bench to score 15 points and his back-to-back threes started a 14-0 first half run that gave the Broncos a 28-4 lead.
Santa Clara shot 50 percent from the field and dominated on the boards. The Broncos outrebounded Portland 40-25, with both Trasolini and Yannick Atanga grabbing 13 apiece.
The Pilots (8-15, 1-7) shot 25 percent from the field and had only one player in double figure scoring.
Ryan Nicholas scored 14 points on 4-for-14 shooting.
Kevin Bailey had a difficult time all night and went 0-for-10 from the field.
Santa Clara will travel to Provo to take on BYU on Saturday.
