The Sacramento Kings prepare to take on the Boston Celtics and will look to capitalize on the Celtics more recent struggles as well as the loss of Rajon Rondo. Sacramento has only won four road games this season, two of them coming in concession.
Sacramento and Boston have both struggled in their last 10 games, as both teams have gone 4-6. The Kings will need to take advantage of the Celtic’s most recent loss of their starting point guard, Rajon Rando. The Celtics have been without Rondo for only one game, but have had only one more day to prepare for their matchup with the Kings.
Sacramento will need big nights from multiple players, and who will get it done is a big question for Kings head coach Keith Smart. Smart has used several lineups as he has navigated his way through this season. Due to injuries, suspensions, and personal matters; Smart has never been able to find a solid starting unit. The Kings will need to find consistency from both the starters and the bench.
The Kings have big opportunities to get DeMarcus Cousins back on track as Kevin Garnett and Brandon Bass are both undersized, and will have guarding Cousins outside the post. Chris Wilcox and seldom seen Jason Collins may play more minutes in attempts to slow down Cousins. Cousins will need to find his teammates, and be active on the boards. Cousins hasn’t been himself in his last four games, but will look to turn things around in Boston.
The Kings beat Boston 118-96 in their Last meeting December 30, 2012 at Sleep Trin Arena. The Kings had big games from John Salmons, Demarcus Cousins and Isaiah Thomas, but were without Tyreke Evans, Marcus Thornton, and Aaron Brooks. The Kings will have a shot as a healthy team to beat the Celtics on their home court.
