The University of San Francisco Dons put up a good fight, but wound up falling to the No. 10 Gonzaga Bulldogs on the road 66-52.
Kelly Olnyk had the high score with 13 for Gonzaga, while Elias Harris put up a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The Dons were held to just 39 percent shooting and committed 17 turnovers.
Gonzaga jumped out to a quick lead in the first half and never looked back. Sam Dower’s jumper at the buzzer gave the Bulldogs a 43-21 lead into halftime.
The Dons showed some life early in the second half, trimming the lead to 16 thanks to an 8-2 run. But Gonzaga was simply more talented and skilled, never letting the Dons back into the game.
The Dons are now 2-6 in conference play and 9-12 overall.
