Allen Crabbe scored 23 points as the Bears held off the Utah Utes on the road on Thursday night.
Cal forced Utah into 17 turnovers and shot 41 percent from the floor in a 62-57 victory.
The Utes had control of the game early until the Bears went off on an 11-0 run, eight of those points coming courtesy of Crabbe.
Crabbe finished the first half with a layup to extend the lead to double-digits, and his back-to-back threes put the Bears up 15 early in the second half.
Utah closed fast and furious in the waning moments of the game, pulling within 58-55 with under a minute to play. But Crabbe and Justin Cobbs made their free throws to close out the win for the Bears.
The Bears are now 3-3 in conference play, and will travel to play Colorado on Sunday.
