Arrest Made in Stabbing Following NFC Championship Game

An arrest has been made in connection with the stabbing following the NFC Championship game between the 49ers and Falcons on Sunday.

It turned out that the altercation had nothing to do with football, as the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports. The attack apparently came as a result of a disagreement over food at a tailgate party.

In fact, neither the victim nor the man in custody, James Lewis McCoy, even attended the game at the Georgia Dome. The incident reportedly occurred at 6:40 p.m. (ET) in the stadium parking lot.

Original reports indicated that the ruckus was started when a Falcon fan was upset that his team lost, and began arguing with a Niners fan, who took out a knife and stabbed the Falcon fan in the neck.

Fortunately, that is not even close to the truth and the stabbing had nothing to do with the game itself.
