Raiders Hire April as Special Teams Coordinator

The Raiders have announced the hiring of Bobby April as special teams coordinator.

April has coached special teams for the past 21 years in the NFL, with stops in Atlanta, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, St. Louis, Buffalo and Philadelphia.

He won two special teams coach of the year awards with the Bills in 2004 and 2008, and led the top-ranked special teams’ unit in the league three times with Buffalo.

April has spent the past three season with the Eagles.

The Raiders also made official the hiring of Greg Olson as offensive coordinator, which was reported yesterday night.
