San Francisco 49ers‘ cornerback Carlos Rogers had a short answer as to what his homecoming in Atlanta would be like Sunday.
“Expensive,” said Rogers.
Rogers, who is in his second season with San Francisco, was born in Augusta and is an offseason resident of Atlanta. He has also purchased over 30 tickets for family and friends to come see him live in action. This will be his third trip to the Georgia Dome in his solid eight-year career.
“I was a fan of the Falcons. I’m still a fan of the Falcons,” Rogers said. “Just not this week.”
Coming back home, having over 30 family and friends watching you live, that should be a recipe for success, right?
Well the 49ers sure hope so, as their secondary will have their hands full with the Falcons. Tony Gonzalez, Roddy White and Julio Jones are all threats on the offensive end and are all capable of making big catches and game-changing plays.
It’ll be a challenge for San Francisco, but with their second-ranked defense and Rogers’ added motivation, they should be just fine.
