Stanford Cardinal offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton will likely not return to the team next season, a source tells Rivals.

Hamilton is engaging in conversations with several NFL teams for the offensive coordinator position, which include the Jets and Colts.

He took over the roles of offensive coordinator and quarterbacks’ coach under David Shaw in 2011-2012 after he joined the team as as wide receivers’ coach in 2010.

Hamilton does have six years of NFL coaching experience as a quarterbacks’ coach for the Jets (2004-2005), 49ers (2006) and Bears (2007-2009).

If Hamilton choose to leave, Stanford will look to promote from within, says Rule of Tree.  Possible candidates include offensive line coach Mike Bloomgren and running backs’ coach Mike Sanford.
