Dashon Goldson is on the hook for yet another check to the NFL league office.
This time, it’s a $10,000 fine for “striking an opponent late” in their NFC divisional matchup against the Packers last Sunday. It was apparently based on a helmet-to-helmet penalty that Goldson committed.
This is is fourth infraction of the season. The Niners’ safety was fined $21,000 for an illegal hit on Patriots’ tight end Aaron Hernandez in December. He was also docked for unnecessary roughness on Sam Bradford and taunting Marshawn Lynch earlier in 2012, and both cost him $7,875.
Back in December, Goldson estimated that he had about $70,000 worth of fines in his career. Now he has to add 10K to that number.
Harbaugh on Moss
Randy Moss did not have a superb year with the 49ers, but at the very least, he was a constant, veteran presence on the field.
Jim Harbaugh said today that he would like for Moss to return next season, telling reporters, “I for one want Randy to come back. I hope he feels the same way.”
Moss played in all 16 games in the regular season, catching 28 passes for 434 yards and three touchdowns.
