Gary Daley Jr., a minor league pitcher in the A’s farm system, has been suspended 50 games without pay after testing positive for methylphenidate.

Methylphenidate is usually taken to alleviate ADHD, but can be used as a stimulant to increase attention.

Daley was drafted in the third round in 2006, and played for Double-A Midland in 2012. He had a 10-10 record with a 5.11 ERA in 188 innings pitched.

In the Arizona Fall League during the off-season, Daley was 1-0 with a 6.75 ERA and one save in 12 innings pitched.
