The Oakland A’s have agreed to one-year deals with first baseman Brandon Moss and relief pitcher Jerry Blevins to avoid arbitration, the team announced.
Moss seemingly came out of nowhere in 2012, hitting .291 with 21 home runs and 54 RBI in 84 games after being called up. Platooning with Chris Carter, the duo formed a powerful combo at first base.
Blevins was solid in middle relief for the A’s last season, with a record of 5-1 and a 2.48 ERA in 63 games.
This signing locks up their final arbitration-eligible players. Yesterday, they agreed to one-year deals with John Jaso and Seth Smith.
