A source has told NBC that they are “eerily confident” that the Kings will stay in Sacramento. The source is from Sacramento has good knowledge of the situation.
Last week, it was revealed that the Maloof brothers were in talks with Seattle investment group to sell the Kings, and therefore relocate them to Seattle.
Two news sources reported that the deal was done and finalized; however, neither side has commented on the situation and news on the Kings have been fairly quiet all weekend.
Instead, potential investors are lining up to buy the team and keep them in Sacramento (i.e. Mark Mastrov, founder of 24-Hour Fitness), and mayor Kevin Johnson has vowed to “fight like crazy” to keep the team in town.
