Report: Raiders Interview Martz, Castillo for Vacant Coaching Positions

The Oakland Raiders interviewed Mike Martz and Juan Castillo for the vacant offensive coaching positions, according to the Oakland Tribune.

Martz is a candidate for offensive coordinator, and Castillo could coach the offensive line.

The Raiders fired offensive coordinator Greg Knapp along with three of his assistants after a dismal 4-12 season.

Martz is familiar to the Bay Area sports scene, as he was the 49ers’ offensive coordinator in 2008. However, he was fired after just one season.

He is best known for being the Rams’ offensive coordinator  in 1999, plotting their high-powered offense to a Superbowl victory. He was the head coach of the Rams from 2000-2005, leading them to four playoff appearances and a Superbowl.

Most recently, Martz was the offensive coordinator for the Bears in 2010, but retired after the season.

Castillo was an assistant for the Eagles from 1995-2012. He was their defensive coordinator in 2011, but was fired after one season.
