Five Cougars finished in double-digits as BYU routed the Santa Clara Broncos 82-64.
Kevin Foster led the Broncos with 22 points, while Marc Trasolini chipped in 17 points with 14 rebounds.
However, they were no match for the Cougars, who are now 4-0 in WCC play.
The game was tight for the majority of the first half, until BYU closed on a 14-7 to take a nine-point lead into halftime.
The Broncos came out of the gate hard in the second half, tying the game on a Foster free throw with 13:36 to play. But an 18-0 run by the Cougars over the next six minutes of play put things out of reach for good. Santa Clara went 0/11 during that stretch.
“We hurt ourselves tonight,” said Trasolini. ”We have let negative energy get the best of us tonight. BYU is a good team, they are really good.”
The Broncos are now 1-3 in league play and 12-6 overall.
