Kings Face Tough Task As Heat Come to Town: Game Preview

The Sacramento Kings prepare to face the defending champion Miami Heat tonight in Sleep Train Arena. The Kings have played tough basketball in their last two home games against Memphis and Dallas. The Kings have shown heart in the wake of the news of the Maloof’s shopping the franchise.

The continued uncertainty surrounding the Kings this last week has created major distractions for this young team. The Maloof’s have made things hard on their players this year as their constant lack of support or solidarity have left players uncertain of their futures. The Maloof’s financial issues have only worsened as they lost their controlling share in the Palms Casino.

Miami enters tonight as the second worst rebounding team in the league, and the Kings need to exploit Miami’s weakness’ in the paint. Demarcus Cousins will be asked to play a big part in tonights game as he has averaged 20.5 points an 12.3 rebounds in his last 8 games. The return of Tyreke Evans has brought some life back to this young Kings team as he has started to find his way in the offense. Evans defense was a major factor in the Kings keeping the game close against the Mavericks, and the Kings will need his defense tonight against a Miami Heat team loaded with offense weapons.
