The San Francisco Giants have signed RHP Mason Tobin to a minor-league deal with an invitation to spring training, according to ESPN.
Tobin appeared in four games last season for the Texas Rangers, recording no record and a 6.75 ERA.
Drafted three times, the 25-year old journeyman, made his major league debut in 2011 after making the Rangers’ opening day roster. Unfortunately, an injured elbow earned him a trip to the disabled list and he was released in April of 2012.
Earlier this week, the Giants signed Kensuke Tanaka, who played in Japan, to a similar contract.
