Frank Gore and Michael Crabtree both scored touchdowns last Sunday in the 49ers’ 27-13 win over the Cardinals at home, but it cost each of them $10,500 for throwing the football into the crowd.

Apparently throwing balls into the stands following a score is safety issue, as the NFL does not want fans fighting over a football.

How is this any different than a foul ball or home run in baseball? Don’t fans jump up and fight over those all the time?

Roger Goodell has been known for his harsh sanctions, but this is just going way overboard.
