Dennis Allen to Coach Senior Bowl

Fresh off a brutal season with the Raiders, Dennis Allen will be a coach at the Senior Bowl on January 26th.

Allen, along with his staff, will coach the North team. On the other sideline coaching the South, will be Jim Schwartz, head coach of the Detroit Lions. Schwartz and his respective staff won the Senior Bowl in 2010.

Allen had this to say about the opportunity (via ESPN):

“It’s a great opportunity for the Raiders,” Allen said. “It gives us a chance to get a solid evaluation on these players. We get a better feel on them because we see them in meetings, we work with them in practice, and we can determine whether their personality would fit well in our locker room.”

The Raiders, and Allen, will certainly need to do all the evaluating they can after another disappointing season in which they finished 4-12.
