Last night, the Bobcats seemed in the lead to acquire Cousins. Sam Amico reported that the Kings would have a hard time turning down Charlotte’s offer for Cousins, but no specific players were named.
Today, however, the Bobcats have denied this rumor:
Bobcats official texts to deny team has put together “any sort of package” with Kings center DeMarcus Cousins in mind.

While Charlotte may still have interest in devising a package for the third-year forward, nothing is imminent. Plus, if Sacramento demands Kemba Walker, it’s unlikely that the two sides will agree on a deal, as the Kings would have to put more on the table to acquire Walker.
What we can take away from this, is that the Kings have options. The Celtics and Pistons are also reportedly interested in Cousins, and the Nuggets and Rockets have had interest in the past. Meaning, Sacramento will have offers to filter through, and it will ultimately come down to whether they want to keep him.
The ball is in their court.
