49ers’ tight end Vernon Davis likely won’t be playing on Sunday against the Cardinals in the season finale, reports the San Francisco Chronicle.
He sustained a concussion after getting hit hard by the Seahawks’ Kam Chancellor in last week’s game. Listed as questionable, Davis wore a non-contact jersey on Friday during practice.
The Chronicle stated that Davis was “not optimistic” about playing on Sunday, and “sounded not at all like a player expecting to return to action.”
Davis has not missed a game in five seasons, but that streak certainly looks to be in jeopardy when the Niners take the field to face the Cardinals on Sunday.
With a win, San Francisco will clinch the NFC West.
