Raiders Deem Carson Palmer Out For Finale

On Sunday, Carson Palmer took a nasty hit from the Panthers’ Greg Hardy, forcing him from the game, and the final game of the season. Hardy was penalized with for roughing the passer following the hit.

Here’s the play:

Palmer remained in the game momentarily before being taken to the locker room where his status was unknown at the time.

According to Paul Gutierrez, Palmer has some cracked ribs and a bruised lung. He returned to the Bay Area with the team, but stayed in a hospital overnight, notes Gutierrez.

Palmer told Gutierrez that he’s ” definitely been better.”

With Palmer down, Dennis Allen will announce his starting quarterback for the finale against the Chargers sometime this week.
