Justin Smith's Status Raised to "Questionable"

Another update on the Justin Smith injury…

Although he did not practice again on Friday, Smith’s status has been raised from “doubtful” to “questionable” for Sunday night’s game at Seattle.

Smith has been battling an injured left arm that he suffered against the Patriots last Sunday, missing much of the second half.

He had an MRI on Monday, and earlier this week Jim Harbaugh expected that he would play against the Seattle. However, “serious doubts” were raised after he did not practice on Thursday.

This could simply be a ploy to scare the Seahawks into thinking that he might be back, or it could seriously be an indication that the All-Pro defensive tackle will be suiting up on Sunday night. You can never be too sure with Harbaugh as the head coach.

Smith last missed a game in 2001, and has the longest-active playing streak among defensive tackles at 188 games.

Other questionable players include WR Mario Manningham (shoulder), who missed last week’s game, and Tavares Gooden (ribs).
