It seems as if DeMarcus Cousins is involved in one controversy after the next.
The Kings’ center was benched for the second half in their loss to the Clippers on Friday night due to a reported altercation between him and head coach Keith Smart. Smart asked Cousins to remain in the locker room for the remainder of the game.
After the game, Smart said that “it was conduct detrimental to the team and we left it at.”
Cousins scored nine points in the first half before the incident.
“What happens in the locker room stays in the locker room but I was wrong,” Cousins told reporters. “But what happens in the locker room stays in the locker room.”
He went on to say that he “shouldn’t have responded back,” and should have “accepted what said and stayed quiet.”
The Kings’ star center has been the center of drama this season. Earlier this month, he was suspended one game for hitting O.J Mayo in the groin. He was also suspended for two games after a confrontation with Spurs’ commentator Sean Elliot.
