The Kings couldn’t find a way to win tonight against the Phoenix Suns, and are starting to leave everyone wondering what is going on.
As Sacramento lost tonight, you have to be left wondering what is going on with this team. Jimmer Fredette is having a career night, Demarcus Cousins is having a major relapse with silly fouls, Tyreke Evans is on the bench with knee problems; and the rest of the team isn’t playing even close to what they are capable of. You as a fan, have to be left asking some very serious questions.
Sacramento failed to take care of the ball once again, as they turned the ball over 19 times. Every player who played tonight committed at least one turnover. The Phoenix Suns were only one assist shy of doubling the Kings 15 assists. The Kings were a miserable 3-13 from beyond the three point arc shooting 23 percent. Sacramento showed once again that they lacked a sense of leadership and a sense of how to play team basketball.
The first quarter was the only positive of the game. The Kings came out and set the tone early, as they found each other, made easy passes, and scored the ball like a good team. The Kings fought through the second quarter, but visibly seemed to run out of steam on both the offensive and defensive sides of the floor towards the end of the quarter. With Cousins on the bench because of fouls, the Kings just couldn’t keep up.
The Kings offensive scheme seemed very out of synch in the third and fourth quarters as the Kings never seemed to find a rhythm shooting the ball. Taking wild shots and trying to dribble through the defense, rather than spacing the floor and passing the ball has become an all too familiar result from the Kings.
With four of the five Suns’ starters the Kings made Phoenix look like a playoff contender in the West. But only because of the Kings entire lack of identity have they begun losing their recent stretches of games.
