The Santa Clara Broncos host the Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo Mustangs Monday at the Leavey Center. The Broncos (8 – 2) defeated the UOP Tigers 75 – 71 in Stockton last Saturday. The Mustangs defeated Eastern New Mexico 60 – 57 in San Luis Obispo last Friday.
The Mustangs feature a front court of Chris Eversley (14.9 ppg) and Brian Bennett (10.5 ppg). Dylan Royer provides 10.3 ppg from the perimeter. Eversley and Bennett also lead the Mustangs in rebounding with 7.8 rpg and 4.6 rpg, respectively. Jamal Johnson and Chris O’Brien lead Cal Poly in assists with 4.4 apg and 2.6 apg, respectively.
The Mustangs shoot 42.0% from the field, 36.4% behind the 3-point line, and 68.6% from the free throw line.
The Broncos headline Kevin Foster from the perimeter and Marc Trasolini in the post. Foster averages 20.1 ppg, followed by Trasolini with 14.2 ppg, and Evan Roquemore with 13.1 ppg. Raymond Cowells III rounds out SCU’s top scorers at 9.7 ppg. Trasolini leads in rebounds with 7.4 rpg, followed by reserves Niyi Harrison and Yannick Atanga with 5.7 and 4.7 rpg, respectively. Roquemore dishes out 6.6 assists per game, while Foster delivers 4.7 apg.
The Broncos shoot at clips of 47.1% from the field, 38.2% behind the 3-point line, and 70.6% from the free throw line.
