Reports are indicating that San Jose State Spartans’ head coach Mike MacIntyre has accepted the head coaching position at Colorado.

MacIntyre took over a struggling Spartans’ team in 2010 and transformed them into a nationally-ranked team in 2012, going 10-2 as the No. 25-ranked team in the country.

He will look to do the same in Colorado, a team that went 1-11 under Jon Embree and has gone through seven straight losing seasons.

Despite achieving immense success and glory in San Jose State, MacIntyre jumped at the opportunity to coach in the Pac-12. This is a prime example of how the SJSU coaching position has been used as a jumping pad for better coaching opportunities.
