Kings Beat Magic: Jimmer Has a Big Game

The Sacramento Kings played a solid game this evening, beating the Magic 91-82. The Kings made a team effort, as Tyreke Evans was scratched from the lineup late due to a sore right knee.

The Kings passed, found each other, and saw excellent play from all three of their guards.

Jimmer Fredette continued to show his improvement this season; as he was 5-7 from the field, scoring 15 points in only 21minutes.

Isaiah Thomas was also a huge lift off the bench after not playing the last game against the Raptors. Thomas matched Demarcus Cousins to lead the team with 17 points.

Aaron Brooks was solid as well, with 3 assists and 11 points.

Demarcus Cousins had another double double grabb14 rebounds, 17 points, 4 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks.

Jason Thompson added a quiet 12 points, and has been one of the more consistent players for Sacramento this year.

Thomas Robinson saw extended minutes late in the game as he showed a nose for defense; and while Robinson only scored 1 point, he had 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Robinson seemed to find his way as he continued to play, and has continued to show improvement. The Kings’ big men controlled the paint this evening, as the Magic shot 37 percent from the field.

The Magic struggled finding good shots, and shot an inefficient 30-80 from the field for 36 percent. While Arron Affalo, Jameer Nelson, and Glen Davis combined for 55 points, they were 21-57 from the field. The other eight Magic players combined for a pathetic 27 points on a 9- 23 night from the field. With no clear leader for the Magic, they have struggled to find consistent play from anyone.

The Sacramento Kings managed to find a way to pull together and win their second game in a row, as they prepare for the beginning of their four game road trip tomorrow in Portland at the Rose Garden.

The Kings lost to the Portland Trailblazers on Novebmer 13th by 17 points at home, when the Kings were without Demarcus Cousins, Isaiah Thomas, Fransisco Garcia, and Aaron Brooks.

Sacramento will hope to regain the services of Tyreke Evans tomorrow, as he rested his right knee tonight against the Magic. The Kings look to win their 3 straight for the first time this season, and must contain Portland’s breakout star Damian Lillard if they hope to win tomorrow in Portland.
