A’s Acquire Sandy Rosario From Red Sox

The Oakland A’s have acquired RHP Sandy Rosario from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for cash considerations.

Rosario has pitched in 10 games over three seasons with the Florida/Miami Marlins, and has allowed 13 runs in 7.2 innings. He was claimed by the Red Sox off waivers in October of this year.

He had much better numbers in Triple A, as he had a 1.99 ERA in 31.2 innings pitched in 2012.

In a corresponding move, the A’s designated outfielder Jermaine Mitchell assignment.
