More breaking news from the San Francisco 49ers on this Tuesday morning.

The 49ers have announced that they have signed linebacker NaVorro Bowman to a five-year contract extension through 2018, worth a total of $45.25 million, with $25.25 million guaranteed.

They signed superstar Patrick Willis to a $53.5 million, seven-year deal in 2010, and now it appears that both of their studs at linebacker will be around for a while longer.

Bowman was drafted by the 49ers in 2010 and has developed into one of the best linebackers in the game. In 11 games this season, he has recorded 100 tackles, two sacks, and one interception. Along with Willis, they form the most deadly 1-2 defensive punch in the league.

The deal was first reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN and confirmed by the Niners.
