The Sacramento Kings have started the season 4-9, and lately, any news surrounding them has been negative. More of the same here…

Brooks Fined

Point guard Aaron Brooks was fined $25,000 by the league after throwing his mouthpiece in the crowd following a heartbreaking 104-102 loss to the Jazz in Utah on Friday.

Brooks, in his first season with the Kings, is averaging 13.5 points per game.

Should Cousins Have Been Ejected?

Center DeMarcus Cousins was ejected in Saturday night’s game against the Jazz at home for having two technical fouls, both which were questionable.

The first technical came when Cousins “slapped down on the ball during a bang-bang play with Jazz backup center Enes Kanter,” according to Jason Jones.

As for the second? Watch it here and try to make sense of how he deserved the technical:

All I see here is two guys battling for position, and while Cousins definitely commits a personal foul, it isn’t by any means a technical. He did protest to the referee on the baseline, but as Jones describes, “restrained himself and quickly closed his mouth.”

This incident comes on the heels of a two-game suspension that Cousins served for an altercation with Sean Elliot, the former NBA player and current color commentator.

Injury Update

Jones reports on Twitter that forward John Salmons left practice early with a left quad strain, and will be re-evaluated tomorrow.

Power forward Chuck Hayes was poked in his right eye and has stitches.
