The Sacramento Kings return home for their game tonight against the Utah Jazz. They lost a heartbreaker last evening in Utah. The Kings had a 13 point lead going into the fourth quarter, and were up by ten with less then five minutes to play. and lost the lead with less then a minute left in the game. They had a chance to tie the game or win it with 4.2 seconds left to play, but they didnt have enough gas left in the tank to send it to overtime, or pull away.
The Kings played unselfish basketball, while playing lock-down defense for most of the game. The Kings got away from their offensive and defensive game plans in the final minutes of the game, and were unable to hang on as the Jazz pulled away.
Sacramento must get back to playing the style of basketball they played against the Lakers, and the beginning of the game against the Jazz. While the Kings managed to keep themselves in the game, their youth and inexperience showed as they couldnt close out a tough Jazz team playing at home. Sacramento has lost all of their road games.
The Kings will need to continue to find each other, and pass the ball; while playing tough minded defense. The Jazz showed they have trouble defending the Kings in their up-tempo style of game, so the Kings must also push the tempo of the game, and get into the open court. They need to be more active on the defensive boards, and not allow the Jazz second chance points.
The Kings have an opportunity to erase lasts nights deflating loss with a win tonight, but will need to come out early with an aggressive mind set. The season will only become more and more daunting if they cannot find away to close out opponents in close games.
