Thanksgiving For the Raiders

It is on this day we bow our heads, and put our hands together and give thanks. We gather with family  friends, and rejoice in all that is good.   It is a day to be thankful for all we have, and help those that don’t. We remember those that are not with us, and embrace those that are.

It is a day that backyard football games get scheduled ahead of the turkey dinner. The rosters include Moms, Dads, Sons, Daughters, Boyfriends, Girlfriends, Grandpas, and Grandmas. The positions change, the teams change players, but the one constant that last year after year is the simple enjoyment everyone has on the backyard gridiron! Go Family, Go Team!

The Raider Nation is a family that truly cares about its team. The unique game day self decorations are a reflection of the pride, and passion the fans have for the Black, and Silver. Since 1960 the fans have bought into the Raiders franchise hook, line, and sinker.

Hopes were high as the season began a few valleys and a couple of speed bumps, and three tsunamis. The hopes of a proud franchise have dwindled, but the dreams of the fans have never burned brighter. To see the Black and Silver run out on the field on Sunday afternoon is – well you have to see it.

As we pause on this day of Thanksgiving take time to remember the young men in Black are only going to get better. Theses young men are playing a childhood game that takes us back to a exciting time in our life.

Thank you Oakland Raiders for giving me hope. Happy Thanksgiving Raider Nation!

From all of us at Golden Gate Sports, we wish you a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving.
