John Heyman of CBS is reporting that the San Francisco Giants have agreed to terms with relief pitcher Jeremy Affeldt on a three year, $18 million deal.

Affeldt, who signed as a free agent with the Giants in 2009, played a key role in the bullpen for both World Series’ runs in 2010 and 2012. He did not allow a run in 10 1/3 innings in the postseason.

During the regular season, he was 1-2 with a 2.70 ERA in 63.1 IP, including three saves.

Heyman claims that Affeldt received offers from multiple teams including the St. Louis Cardinals, who the Giants defeated in the NLCS en route to the World Series.

The reported deal would be $4.5 million short of the deal that the Los Angeles Dodgers gave Brandon League, which was for #22.5 million over three years.
