Sacramento Kings’ forward Thomas Robinson was suspended two games by the NBA today following his ejection on Wednesday night for throwing a vicious elbow at Jonas Jerebko of the Detroit Pistons.

The elbow occurred play had ended, but Robinson and Jerebko were tangled up and Robinson delivered an elbow into the throat of Jerebko, who fell to the floor. Jerebko was down for several minutes, but was able to get up and stay in the game.
A referee immediately threw Robinson out of the game and issued a flagrant foul. Robinson apologized afterwards on Twitter:

Robinson, a rookie, was the fifth pick of the 2012 NBA Draft by the Kings out of Kansas. He has averaged just 4.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 13.6 minutes in five games played this season.
