Poll Results: Which Bay Area Athlete Would Make the Best President?

Well ladies and gentleman, the votes have been tallied, and the candidates informed. Four candidates have conceded victory, and I am pleased to announce that Hunter Pence has won over the hearts of the greatest fan base in the world, Bay Area sports fans.

It was a landslide victory for Pence, who took the vote with a whopping 46%. Stephen Curry came in second with 16% of the vote. Coco Crisp and Darren McFadden finished in a dead heat at 14%, and apparently the 49ers fans were busy on Election Day as Patrick Willis finished with only 10% of the vote.

I am sure Hunter Pence would be very pleased to know that the fan base in the Bay Area thinks so highly of him. His poise and calm under intense pressure, and his motivating style of leadership are things that all people can agree are important in any leader. Whether a captain on the field of play, the field of battle, or in business and politics, nothing is as important as the ability to inspire people to work together.

Those insanely intense eyes are a nice touch as well.

As I am sure Hunter himself would tell you, truly great leaders are forged with their backs against the wall and their knuckles bloody. The pressure that the San Francisco Giants faced, playing three straight win-or-go-home games, first in the NLDS and again in the League Championship Series, definitely forged a diamond of a leader in Pence, who’s pre-game speeches helped rally the Giants back in both series. So inspiring were the orations of this field General, that his teammates wouldn’t let him stop giving the speeches lest they should lose the motivational edge.

Even Pence’s bat adopted a never say die attitude, shattering but refusing to give up, contacting the ball two more times and putting an uncatchable spin on it to get it out of the infield before finally succumbing to its fate as a priceless collectible item.

So, from everyone at Golden Gate Sports, and fans all over the Bay Area, to Hunter Pence we say congratulations, and a very sincere thanks.
