The Oakland Raiders announced on Tuesday that they had activated outside linebacker Aaron Curry and waived Vic So’oto to make room for Curry on the roster.
Curry was the fourth overall pick of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks and was traded to the Raiders in October of last year. In 11 games last season, he recorded 32 tackles.
The linebacker has spent much of the off-season and regular season rehabbing his sore knees, but the Raiders had to make a decision on whether to activate or release him before his 21-day evaluation period was up.
The San Jose Mercury News reports that the Raiders will likely use Curry on special teams and as a backup at all three linebacker positions until he can get back into football shape.
