Warriors Take on Grizzlies in Home Opener: Game Preview

After a crazy opener, the Warriors are right back on it, taking on the Grizzlies in the first home game of the season.

There is, however, a recurring pattern in the Warriors. Against good teams, the Warriors build a huge lead, and blow it in the third quarter. It’s always the third that ends up killing them. If Lee and Curry are feeling like they’re ready to bounce back from a miserable shooting night on Halloween, then the Warriors should do just fine tonight.

In Grizzlies opener, the Clippers dismantled them with a killer 29-point night from Jamal Crawford. This doesn’t mean the Grizzlies are a “bad” team. With a lineup with stars such as Rudy Gay, Mike Conley, and Zach Randolph, the Grizzlies are set to explode offensively.

This game is going to be an interesting one, as both teams look to go back in forth in another game that is likely to be a wild one. The matchup to watch will definitely be David Lee vs. Zach Randolph. As two rebound-inhaling, big, strong, and athletic PF’s who have been snubbed from the All-Star Game, they will go head to head and produce highlights that we want to see.

This game sets up a critical gateway to the playoffs. I know it’s really early, but the Warriors have failed to go 2-0 in their first games in recent years. If they can get it done today, especially against a playoff-bound team like the Grizzlies, they will gain some much-needed confidence and set themselves up to take on bigger named teams.
