When Carson Palmer first came to Oakland mid season last year, he had his struggles. But this was simply because he was thrown into a new system of offense and was expected to be efficient. Wins do not come easy in the NFL, I’m sure any player would tell you that. And when you are thrown into a system that you are not familiar with, flaws are going to shine until you simply adjust to that offense.
Despite his previous struggles with Oakland, Carson Palmer has come a long way. The Oakland Raiders are 3-4 coming into week nine, and they have looked particularly sharp the past couple of weeks. Palmer is having himself a very solid season, and the numbers are there. Through seven games Palmer has thrown for 1,941 yards with nine TD passes. He has a 85.7 passer rating and has become the official leader of this offense.
The Raiders will be hosting a very hot Tampa Bay Buccaneers team on Sunday, but I’m sure Palmer is thoroughly excited. Tampa Bay ranks 31st in pass defense and have continuously given up huge plays in the secondary. Quarterback Carson Palmer should be walking in the Coliseum on Sunday with a big smile on his face. He should have his fun on Sunday. And so should the speedy wide receivers of Oakland.
Carson Palmer loves his speedy, agile receiver Denarius Moore who has done nothing but produced this season. Palmer has hooked up with Moore 26 times this season with four TD passes as well. Moore has 419 receiving yards so far and is quickly becoming a nightmare for the secondary. Expect some great plays in the air from Palmer to Moore throughout the game on Sunday against one of NFL’s weakest pass defense.
