Video: A's Manager Bob Melvin Gets Pie to Face After Clinching Postseason Birth

The Oakland A’s have had no shortage of walk-off wins this season, which were followed by the customary pie-to-the-face of the hero.

But yesterday, after clinching a playoff spot with a 4-3 win over Texas, it was manager Bob Melvin who was greeted in the face with a pie, courtesy of Josh Reddick.

Not many baseball players would have the nerve to pie their manager in the face, and this speaks volumes to how tight-knit the A’s are in terms of chemistry. Bob Melvin has done a fantastic job managing this group of young players, and should be one of the top candidates for the AL Manager of the Year Award.

The A’s will now look towards winning the division, which can only be accomplished if they win their final two games of the season, both against Texas at home.
